About the Event

If you struggle to mix colours for your artwork and always get it wrong, or would like more understanding on the best way to use colour, this in-depth 2 part workshop is perfect for you!

We'll be:

  • Covering the fundamentals of colouring mixing
  • Creating a colour wheel
  • Discussing what paints to have in your palette
  • Working through different paints and pigments

At the end of the class you'll have your own custom reference sheets to help you with all of your future artwork.

This information we'll be covering is applicable to all art materials - oils, acrylics and coloured pencils too! A must for all budding artists!

The workshop will be split over 2 sessions, all on a Wednesday evening which are included in the fee:

Wednesday March 17th: 6.30-8.30pm

Wednesday April 28th: 6.30-8.30pm

Please note that there is 6 weeks in between dates, so that you have time to begin to use some of the techniques in your paintings in between sessions and can use the 2nd session to ask more questions!

The workshop will be held via Zoom.

You will need the full set of materials below to participate in the workshop:

  • Watercolour set: Ultramarine Blue, Cerulean Blue, Alizarin Crimson, Cadmium Red, Cadmium Yellow and Lemon Yellow.
  • Brushes: A medium round brush (size 4-6).
  • Any Watercolour paper, minimum 2 A4 sheets. However you may wish to purchase a new watercolour pad to keep all of your future colour mixing together - the start of a colour mixing reference book!
  • HB Pencil
  • Eraser
  • Ruler
  • Something circular to draw around which is a minimum of 10cm diameter - small plate, mug, around a roll of cellotape etc.

If you are unsure about the materials list, there's a little bit of a guide here: Little Robin Art Materials Guide.

If you need any materials for the class, use this link to receive 10% off your first order from Jacksons Art: 10% off your first order

£18 per person for the full 4 hours split over 2 sessions.

Terms and Conditions

Full payment is needed to secure a place on the workshop.

The payment is non-refundable, unless the workshop doesn't go ahead for any reason. In the unlikely event that the workshop is cancelled, your booking fee will happily be refunded or transferred to another workshop of the same price.

The workshop will be held online via the Zoom platform. You can find more information about Zoom at www.zoom.us. Please make sure you are familiar with Zoom before the workshop.

If technology (laptop/device/internet connection) fails for the host so that either a) the workshop cannot commence or b) it is severely disrupted (i.e. the host is disconnected multiple times) the workshop will be postponed and your ticket/place will be valid for the re-booked date. Unfortunately, if technology fails for the participant and you're unable to attend the workshop because of this, a refund cannot be provided. As a goodwill gesture, you will be entitled to 50% off your next online workshop booking.

If you are unable to attend the workshop, you may of course send someone in your place. Just let me know that person’s name before the workshop so I can welcome them to the class.

Depending on the class, there are a different number of places available for each workshop. Typically there’s a minimum number of people needed for each class to run too. In the event of there not being enough people booked onto the workshop it will unfortunately have to be cancelled, but I’ll give at least 72 hours notice and you’ll have the choice of booking onto another date or to receive a full refund.

The meeting link and ID is to remain confidential and not to be shared with anyone that it was not designated to. Each online class will have a unique ID and password which participants can only access via their confirmation email.

The price listed is per person. Multiple people cannot use a single ticket.

Strictly no recording, photography or screenshots of the online class are allowed by participants. Anyone seen to be breaking this rule will be removed. Some Zoom facilities may be disabled by the host during the class.

The image provided for use during the online art class will be subject to copyright, owned either by Little Robin Art or another photographer and used for the class only with full permission. Attendees are not permitted to use this photograph or the final artwork for any other purpose, commercial or non-commercial, without prior written approval. Please contact Little Robin Art if you have any queries.

The image shown to advertise the class may not be the one used.

The same behaviour expectations that are set within a classroom apply to the online class, which also includes background environments and others in the room with you. The host may remove anyone from the class if they are deemed to be sufficiently disturbing others.
